Designer supervision

1. Analysis of aircraft operating environment.
2. Assessment of technical facilities and processes (AS, depot, ARP).
3. Troubleshooting and debugging.
4. Consulting services and information exchange and implementation of measures for problem areas of operation (producing bulletins, CDTR, etc., assistance in their production).

Practical assistance with repairs

1. Assessment of repair resources
2. Assessment of qualifications of repair personnel.
3. Supply of support equipment and repair kits.
4. Audit of aircraft entered for repairs. Assigning them updated performance limits.
5. Updating the lists and scope of essential repair jobs.
6. Training of repair personnel.

Practical assistance during maintenance

1. Provision of designer's assistance in auditing an aircraft, its operating environment and reliability indices.
2. Providing assistance in troubleshooting the most challenging failures outside the scope of operating manuals.
3. Improving procedures and line-up of emergency and scheduled types of maintenance in field conditions, based on the operational background.
4. Providing guidance and practical services for solving maintenance problems.
5. Optimising the utility of service life and extending it. Organising instruction and hands-on training on site.

Diagnostics and recovery procedures

The diagnostics and recovery procedures for Su marque aircraft are developed for timely identification and elimination of damage to the load-bearing units of the airframe. The philosophy for developing aircraft diagnostics and recovery procedures provides for dividing the aircraft into critical areas. Critical areas centre on airframe structural members, together with certain locations and assemblies, which can possibly develop faults or failures in the course of operation.

To improve the performance of aircraft auditing, it is necessary to set up facilities for monitoring the operational loads on both the aeroplane frame as a whole and its separate assemblies. Monitoring such loads (or accrued time equivalent) in terms of its influence on the life expectancy of the airframe makes it possible to accurately schedule audits for any of the critical areas.

Sukhoi has set up a known-failure database and software modules to support operation of Su-27 type aircraft.

Target-oriented recovery work on damaged aircraft

1. Technical audit.
2. Development of necessary design and process documentation.
3. Manufacture of required parts and accessories.
4. Delivery of required assemblies and parts.
5. Certification of recovery and extending the operational life.
